ArmInfo. Today, July 1, Armenia celebrates Prosecutor's Office Worker's Day.
In this regard, RA Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan addressed prosecutors with congratulations. The message, distributed by the press service of the oversight body, specifically notes that for over a century, this day has served as an opportunity to evaluate the work of prosecutors, recognize their role in the state system, and emphasize their image in public life. "Public expectations of the prosecutor are high. Prosecutors are prohibited from doing what are considered the rights and freedoms of others; they voluntarily choose this path of self-restraint in order to serve the public good. I am pleased that these high public expectations are accompanied by an annual increase in public trust in the prosecutor's office. According to a public opinion survey conducted in Armenia in February 2026 by the International Republican Institute, 43% of RA citizens are "completely satisfied" and "somewhat satisfied" with the work of the prosecutor's office.
Compared to the previous survey, the satisfaction index has increased by 6%. This indicator of public trust is an assessment of the prosecutor's office's effectiveness.
The Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia will continue its path as a respectable, professional, and stable institution, faithful to its mission of upholding the rule of law, protecting state interests, and restoring justice," noted Anna Vardapetyan.
She also recalled that this year the Prosecutor's Office celebrates the 108th anniversary of its founding. "I once again congratulate us all on this anniversary and on Prosecutor's Office Worker's Day, wishing you good health, professional success, and unwavering will for the Republic of Armenia," the RA Prosecutor General's message reads.
July 1 is officially celebrated as Prosecutor's Office Worker's Day in Armenia. This professional holiday was established by a decision of the RA government on March 7, 2003. The date was chosen to commemorate the adoption of the Law on the Prosecutor's Office in 1998, which laid the foundation for the modern oversight system in the country. Although the Prosecutor's Office traces its history back to December 1918, the current Constitution and laws of modern Armenia define its key role in ensuring law and order. On July 1, current employees, veterans of the agency, and the country's leadership traditionally exchange congratulations as part of this professional holiday.
