ArmInfo. Prosecutor General of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan received her Latvian colleague Armins Meisters, who is in Yerevan on a working visit.
The Latvian delegation, led by Prosecutor Meisters, is in Armenia to participate in a high-level international conference held under the auspices of the Armenian Platform for Dialogue of European Prosecutors.
During the meeting, the parties discussed international legal cooperation between Armenia and Latvia in criminal proceedings. It was noted that the international legal instruments existing between the two countries make it possible to effectively fulfill requests for mutual legal assistance, a fact underscored by positive statistical trends in bilateral cooperation over recent years. Special attention was paid to the possibilities of expanding cooperation in the fight against transnational crime, in particular the use of Eurojust tools (the agency of the European Union that deals with the judiciary).
Vardapetyan and Meisters reaffirmed their readiness to further deepen international cooperation, exchange professional experience and develop bilateral partnerships, emphasizing the importance of such formats for increasing the efficiency of prosecutorial systems and jointly responding to modern challenges.
