ArmInfo. Armenian Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan will participate in the World Health Organization (WHO) regional forum in Istanbul, which will focus on health system cooperation during emergencies and the operations of emergency medical teams. The Minister announced this during a press conference held on June 30.
Regarding potential bilateral meetings during the forum, the Minister noted that such discussions are standard practice, though she did not rule out negotiations with regional counterparts. However, she emphasized that the official agenda for these meetings has not yet been finalized.
The Minister also reported that Armenia's medical teams are currently undergoing an emergency response readiness assessment. They are expected to soon receive WHO-recognized certification, which will authorize them to provide medical assistance both within Armenia and internationally when necessary. "This is an important achievement, one we've been working toward for the past three years," the Minister of Health stated.
