ArmInfo. In the 2026-2027 academic year, admission to 10th grade in public high schools in Armenia will be conducted online for the first time through the my.emis.am platform. This was announced by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport (MONKS) of Armenia.
As noted in the announcement by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport (MONKS), parents will be able to submit an application, send the necessary documents to the school principal, and sign a contract entirely online through the Education Management Information System.
The first stage of registration will run from July 20 (9:00 AM) to August 2 (12:00 PM) and is intended for students eligible for preferential admission. Priority will be given to students whose siblings are already enrolled in the chosen school, children of school employees, and children from socially vulnerable groups. Benefits also apply to children of civil servants transferred to another location for at least six months, provided that documents are submitted to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports in a timely manner. These benefits apply to students studying in both Armenian and Russian.
The second round of general admission to classes with instruction in Armenian will begin on August 4 (9:00 AM). Armenian citizens, foreign citizens, dual citizens, stateless persons, and representatives of national minorities wishing to study in Armenian will be eligible to register. Admission to classes with instruction in Russian will begin on August 11.
The Ministry also announced that online registration will not be required for specialized schools, educational institutions affiliated with universities, classes in the "Generation of Artificial Intelligence" program, and those schools and lyceums where students automatically advance to the third stage of education within the same institution.
Separately, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports reported that at a meeting, Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan announced the integration of the ChatGPT Edu platform into the educational system. According to her, the service will become a tool for university professors, students, school teachers, and high school students.
In the initial phase, access to the platform will be provided through funding from Firebird, after which the authorities will consider the possibility of state funding based on an assessment of the program's effectiveness.
