


ArmInfo. The Investigative Committee of Armenia reports the completion of the preliminary investigation into the murder of Robert Stepanyan, the father of well-known crime boss Rustam Stepanyan, nicknamed "Chakh Rustam."
"During the preliminary investigation, clear factual data was obtained that on December 31, 2025, in the courtyard of house No. 44 on Komitas Avenue, an unknown person opened fire from a firearm at the driver of a Toyota car, R.S., and fled, as a result of which the latter was taken to the hospital, where he died from the gunshot wounds he received. As a result of large-scale procedural and evidentiary actions carried out within the framework of the criminal proceedings, as well as the operational and investigative measures taken, it was established that the murder of R.S. was committed by previously convicted A.S. with the assistance of A.Kh. Based on the investigator's petition, the supervising prosecutor initiated a public criminal case against A.S. In accordance with Part 1 of Article 155 (murder), Part 1 of Article 335 (illegal trafficking in firearms and ammunition) and Part 1 of Article 264 (destruction of or damage to property) of the Criminal Code, as well as with respect to A.Kh. under Part 1 of Article 46-155 (complicity in murder).
A.S. was detained as a preventive measure, and warrants were issued for A.Kh.'s arrest and for a search. The criminal case against A.S. was transferred to a supervisory authority along with the indictment.
