Expert:  Main task of containing Azerbaijan is in hands of Armenian  society

ArmInfo.Today, the main task of containing Azerbaijan is in the hands of Armenian society. Azerbaijan expert Tatevik Hayrapetyan writes about this in his  article. 

"Imagine for a moment that you are an official at the Foreign  Ministry of some capital dealing with the South Caucasus, namely the  Armenian-Azerbaijani problems. You study the situation and see that  Azerbaijan has launched a new campaign of territorial claims against  Armenia at the state level. You say, let's see what they say in  Armenia about this so that I can report this to my ministers and  deputy ministers.  You open yesterday's press conference of the  leader of the Republic of Armenia and hear him literally justify the  aggressive plans promoted by Azerbaijan, blaming the Armenian  opposition for this. According to the expert, no diplomat from country X will defend  Armenian interests more than Armenian society itself. No one will say that, you know, the right of return of the  Armenians of Artsakh is enshrined in international courts, but this  is not enough, since the Armenian leadership today is fighting  against it. They will not say that, you know, there is no real map on  the planet where the name "Western Azerbaijan" refers to the  territory of Armenia. No one will do what we ourselves must do.  Instead, they will listen to the speeches of representatives of the  Armenian authorities, who are Aliyev's henchmen, and very calmly  accept the demands of Azerbaijani officials during the various events  they hold on this matter. 

Therefore, I say that strengthening the public sphere on this issue  is very important, because this is a matter of national security. If  the public sphere unanimously calls this an aggressive concept that  threatens regional stability, then perhaps a diplomat from country X  will also include this in his report. In the end "After all, the  majority of voters in our country did not accept Aliyev's henchman,  Pashinyan. Therefore, a diplomat from Country X can take this into  account in his report.
