ArmInfo.Turkey's Special Representative for the Normalization of Turkish-Armenian Relations, Ambassador Serdar Kilic, congratulated Ruben Rubinyan on his nomination by the ruling Civil Contract Party for the post of Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia.
"I congratulate my colleague in the Turkish-Armenian normalization process, Ruben Rubinyan, on his nomination as Speaker of the Armenian Parliament. Over the past four years, we have created an effective working culture, and a sincere friendship has developed between us. I wish him continued success in his new position," Kilic wrote on his X page.
As a reminder, the special representatives for the normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia are Deputy Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Ruben Rubinyan and experienced Turkish diplomat Ambassador Serdar Kilic. The dialogue between the countries, which the parties are conducting without preconditions, includes several significant milestones. The countries have entered the direct trade phase, and a visa regime for holders of service and special passports came into effect on January 1, 2026.
In May 2026, the special representatives signed a protocol on the joint restoration of the historic Ani Bridge. The parties confirm their intention to accelerate the implementation of agreements on border crossings for third-country nationals.
