ArmInfo. The preventive measure in relation to former Masis mayor and Republican Party member Davit Ambartsumyan has been changed—from house arrest to administrative supervision.
The decision was made at a session of the Court of Appeal. In addition, the court overturned the lower court's decision and sent the case back for reconsideration.
Ambartsumyan himself said after the hearing that he intends to appeal this decision. Recall that the former mayor of Masis has been charged with using a weapon against participants in protest actions and with organizing mass riots in 2018. Ambartsumyan was detained at the end of 2025 immediately after returning to Armenia, at the aircraft's boarding stairs. Subsequently the court sentenced him to six years and three months in prison.
