
ArmInfo.By decision of Constitutional Court Chairman Arman Dilanyan, Judges Artak Zeynalyan and Vladimir Vardanyan will not participate in hearing the lawsuits filed by seven opposition political forces challenging the results of the regular parliamentary elections held in the country on June 7. The relevant decisions are published on the website of the Constitutional Court of Armenia.
As noted in the decision, the complaint against Constitutional Court judges Artak Zeynalyan and Vladimir Vardanyan was filed by the New Force party of former Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan. It should be noted that both decisions confirm that the aforementioned judges cannot hear the case due to their "biased attitude toward the participants in the trial."
"Judges Artak Zeynalyan and Vladimir Vardanyan, based on a petition filed by the New Force party, cannot participate in the hearing of the case related to the decision of the Central Election Commission (CEC) due to their biased attitude toward the participants in the trial. The decision concerned the tabulation of the results of the regular parliamentary elections held on June 7, 2026," the court decision states.
Today, lawyer Hovhannes Khudoyan, representing Robert Kocharyan's Armenia bloc, announced that their political party will also petition to disqualify Constitutional Court Judge Seda Safaryan.
As a reminder, on June 19, seven political forces filed applications with the Constitutional Court of Armenia demanding that the results of the June 7 parliamentary elections be declared invalid. On June 21, the Constitutional Court decided to consolidate all cases into one proceeding. The matter will be heard by the Constitutional Court on June 26.
