ArmInfo. The Constitutional Court of Armenia has appointed Edgar Shatinyan, nominated by Judge Nikol Pashinyan, as the rapporteur for the political forces challenging the results of the parliamentary elections.
This was announced by Edgar Ghazaryan, a representative of the Strong Armenia party, led by businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan.
He noted that the Constitutional Court of Armenia held a procedural hearing on the non-working Sunday, June 21, during which all seven applications filed by political forces to the Constitutional Court appealing the results of the June 7 elections were accepted for review and combined into a single case.
"Edgar Shatiryan, nominated for the position of Constitutional Court judge by the government led by Nikol Pashinyan, elected to this position by the My Step faction, and also serving as the rapporteur judge in the appeal case against the results of the 2021 National Assembly elections, in which the Constitutional Court upheld the decision of the Central Electoral Commission, has been appointed rapporteur judge in this case as well.
On the official website of the Constitutional Court, Edgar Shatiryan is also referred to as the Vice- Chairman of the Constitutional Court, although there is no corresponding Constitutional Court decision regarding his election. It is noteworthy that in Constitutional Court Decision No. SDAO-111 of June 21, 2026, Edgar Shatiryan is mentioned not as the Vice-Chairman of the Constitutional Court, but as a judge of the Constitutional Court," he noted.
On June 19, seven political forces filed applications with the Constitutional Court of Armenia demanding a review of the results of the parliamentary elections of June 7 of this year and either the calling of new elections or a second round of voting.
