
ArmInfo. At a meeting on June 18, the Armenian government approved the ratification of the protocol to the CIS Member States' Agreement "On the Procedure for Investigating Occupational Accidents Involving Workers Outside Their State of Residence."
The rationale for the draft resolution notes that the agreement itself was signed on December 9, 1994. Experience with the document's implementation shows that there is currently a need to amend it to update certain provisions and improve the procedures established by the agreement.
The protocol amending the document was signed on June 5, 2025. The implementation of these amendments is driven by the importance of clarifying the terms used in the agreement, as well as the need to address emerging technological and production risks.
The agreement is supplemented by an article that provides for the transfer of information about an accident between the competent authorities of those countries that oversee and monitor compliance with labor legislation.
It sets out occupational safety requirements in the event of an accident occurring during departure from and return to the destination of a business trip, including transit, within the territory of any CIS country. This clause also stipulates that the employer, in the employment relationship with the employee, is obligated to conduct an official investigation of the accident in accordance with the regulations established in the country of the secondment, the implementation of which is monitored by the competent authority overseeing and monitoring compliance with occupational safety requirements in that country.
