ArmInfo. The Heritage Party called on opposition forces concerned about the country's future to form a common agenda and a united front in the fight against the government in order to prevent further steps to surrender the homeland. This was stated in a statement released by the party's leader, Raffi Hovhannisyan, on his Facebook page.
The political party expressed its conviction that the regular parliamentary elections held on June 7, 2026, not only failed to resolve, but also further exacerbated and aggravated the internal societal and domestic political crisis, which was caused by anti-state and anti-Armenian activities, and sometimes even the inaction of the ruling political entity in recent years. In this regard, the Heritage Party recalled that the electoral processes took place under conditions of unequal competition, blatant abuse of state resources, and biased attitudes on the part of the law enforcement system, which had a significant impact on the free expression of citizens' will.
"The figures and percentages expressed in the final protocol published by the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) are problematic, do not correspond to the already-infringed will of Armenian citizens, do not correspond to the principles of democracy, and provide grounds for legal challenge. From now on, the ruling political entity lacks legitimate support. Even the figures and percentages they have drawn up show that 50 percent or more of the Republic's citizens do not support their political program and agenda," the political force asserts.
The party also noted that this same analysis of the circumstances shows that not all opposition leaders and teams involved in the electoral process demonstrated a state-oriented approach. It notes that the opposition failed to formulate and present to Armenian citizens a political alternative that encompasses all segments of society. "Considering the above, we propose that all forces concerned about the country's future, which is under threat, and the leaders of the anti-seizure and constitutional struggles formulate a common agenda and a united front in the fight against the authorities, to prevent them from committing another act of surrendering the Motherland," the party concluded.
As a reminder, regular parliamentary elections were held in Armenia on June 7, 2026. On June 14, Central Election Commission Chairman Vahagn Hovakimyan presented the final results of the parliamentary elections. According to him, the Civil Contract Party won seats in the Armenian parliament with 49.7456% of the vote, Samvel Karapetyan's Strong Armenia bloc won 23.2710%, and second president Robert Kocharyan's Armenia bloc won 9.9231%. Gagik Tsarukyan's Prosperous Armenia Party failed to pass the 4% parliamentary threshold following a recount, receiving only 3.9893%.
Tsarukyan's party failed to pass the threshold after the Central Election Commission annulled the results of three polling stations where Tsarukyan's party received more than 200 votes. Thus, according to Hovakimyan, the mandates were distributed as follows: Pashinyan's party received 64 mandates, securing a constitutional majority of 3/5 in parliament. Karpetyan's bloc received 29 mandates, and Kocharyan's bloc received 12 mandates. Thus, the Civil Contract party has a 3/5 majority, which allows it to pass constitutional laws and make appointments, but it lacks the 2/3 majority necessary to directly amend the Armenian Constitution.
