GRECO commends Armenia`s implementation of anti-corruption  recommendations within  MIA

ArmInfo.  The Anti-Corruption Council of Europe (GRECO) has commended Armenia for  its implementation of anti-corruption recommendations within the  Ministry of Internal Affairs. This  announcement was made during the  103rd plenary meeting of the GRECO Group of States in Strasbourg.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs,  the meeting included a review of Armenia's first compliance report  regarding the recommendations presented under the framework of  GRECO's 5th evaluation round.

The report indicates that five of the presented recommendations have  been "satisfactorily implemented." GRECO also highlighted Armenia's  significant progress, particularly in areas such as enhancing police  transparency and communication, the adoption of an anti-corruption  action plan, police training, and the investigation of potential  misconduct within the system, noting that these recommendations have  been implemented appropriately.

GRECO also recorded positive progress regarding three other  recommendations from the Ministry of Internal Affairs: increasing the  representation of women in the police force, conducting integrity  checks, and post-service restrictions. Given the need for further  implementation and strengthening institutional results, these  recommendations were assessed as partially implemented.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs assured that efforts to fully  implement all remaining recommendations are ongoing. According to the  source, the report's findings confirm Armenia's commitment to further  reforms in the areas of corruption prevention and strengthening  integrity principles.
