
ArmInfo.On 15 June, Ambassador Varuzhan Nersesyan met with the Rt Hon Dame Priti Patel DBE MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs.
According to the press service of the Armenian Embassy in the UK, during the meeting, the Ambassador briefed Dame Priti on the latest developments in the South Caucasus, including the ongoing efforts of the Republic of Armenia to consolidate the established peace in the region.
The interlocutors discussed the implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) as an important initiative aimed at unlocking regional connectivity, promoting economic cooperation, and strengthening the prosperity and security of Armenia and the wider South Caucasus. In this context, Ambassador Nersesyan stressed the importance of the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, jurisdiction and reciprocity, which remain essential for the successful advancement of regional communication links.
Ambassador Nersesyan also highlighted the growing Armenia-UK bilateral agenda and the opportunities for further deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including political dialogue, regional security, trade, education and people-to-people contacts. Referring to the Armenia-UK Strategic Partnership established following the decision adopted at the European Political Community Summit held in Yerevan earlier this year, the Ambassador noted that this new framework provides a strong foundation for expanding cooperation across a broad range of sectors and advancing shared priorities.
