


ArmInfo.Two candidates running for parliament under the "Strong Armenia" bloc have been detained, and a search has been declared for four others, according to a statement from the press service of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Armenia.
The agency recalled that the Main Directorate for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases and Electoral Crimes had previously initiated criminal proceedings against six parliamentary candidates from the "Strong Armenia" bloc in connection with a criminal case involving bribery and money laundering on an especially large scale (Part 2 of Article 46-236 and Clause 3 of Part 3 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Armenia).
"During the preliminary investigation of the criminal case, two citizens were arrested, and four were placed on a wanted list for further detention," the Investigative Committee concluded.
Recall, attorney Tatevik Sogoyan previously reported that one of the detainees is Sasun Badoyan, a candidate for the "Strong Armenia" bloc and the father of a serviceman who died in the 44-day war.
