ArmInfo. Samvel Karapetyan, leader of the "Strong Armenia" bloc, has announced his intention to remain in politics. He made this statement in a conversation with journalists after the court hearing, answering a question about whether his plans had changed following the country's recent parliamentary elections.
Karapetyan clarified that he initially had no plans to enter politics. "I never had such a dream. However, during this critical period for our Homeland—marked by unilateral concessions and widespread poverty—I do not have the right to think about anything else. We must do everything possible to put the country on a path toward development. Therefore, we will remain in politics, but we will operate from the right positions," the leader of the "Strong Armenia" bloc declared.
Furthermore, Karapetyan stated that he intends to remain in Armenia for a long term. The bloc leader rejected the notion that his team failed to achieve its promised victory due to taking radical stances. "If we had acted radically, victory would have won today," he explained.
Karapetyan also answered affirmatively to the question whether he intends to run for Prime Minister of Armenia again if a decision is made to call a second round of elections. "Of course. Why, are you not satisfied with my candidacy?" Karapetyan asked with a smile.
Earlier, Karapetyan stated that the "Strong Armenia" bloc was proposing that the Armenian authorities either hold a second round or organize entirely new parliamentary elections.
