
ArmInfo.Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has filed a lawsuit against Strong Armenia bloc leader Samvel Karapetyan for defamation, demanding 6 million drams in compensation.
According to a report posted in the Datalex legal documents system, Pashinyan demanded that Karapetyan refute the information that "he has a house in Canada." "On May 25, 2026, Samvel Karapetyan disseminated information that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has a house in Canada. This information defames the Armenian prime minister, is false, and does not correspond to reality," the lawsuit states. Pashinyan's defense demanded a retraction of this information, publishing a video message on the YouTube channels of at least three media outlets with at least 200,000 subscribers under the title "Refutation of the information from May 25, 2026, which is slanderous against the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan."
In addition, according to the source, Pashinyan is demanding 6,000,000 drams from Karapetyan. As a reminder, on May 26, Karapetyan filed a second lawsuit against the ruling Civil Contract party and the Public Television of Armenia (PTA) for defamation. Karapetyan demanded a retraction of the statements made in the Civil Contract party's campaign video and published by the Public Television of Armenia about "oligarchs," "creating a party of three war leaders," "deceiving the people," "intimidation," "buying votes to come to power," "inciting war," "destroying Armenia's independence," and "foreign espionage."
