ArmInfo. The Prosperous Armenia Party campaign headquarters will file a petition for a vote recount and will use all legal means to seek to identify election violations, as noted in a statement by Iveta Tonoyan, press secretary for Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan.
"Since yesterday evening, we have been observing various arithmetic manipulations regarding the votes cast for the Prosperous Armenia Party. During the vote count, one figure was displayed on the CEC website, but with each subsequent update, a different, reduced number appeared.
The Prosperous Armenia party's campaign headquarters currently states that it will file a petition for a vote recount, utilize all legal means, and work to uncover electoral violations. The identification of polling stations where a recount will be required is currently being finalized, and the grounds for appealing individual decisions and actions are being discussed.
Furthermore, the above in no way precludes appealing the election results, given the massive scale of electoral violations we observed throughout the entire election process," the statement reads.
It should be noted that following the Central Electoral Commission's adjustment of the preliminary vote counts for the June 7 parliamentary elections, businessman Gagik Tsarukyan's Prosperous Armenia Party lost its 4% margin of victory and will not enter the new parliament. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's Civil Contract Party received 49.825% of the vote, Samvel Karapetyan's Strong Armenia bloc received 23.281%, and second President Robert Kocharyan's Armenia bloc received 9.934%. Tsarukyan's Prosperous Armenia Party received 3.996%.
