ArmInfo.Former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Tiran Khachatryan, has been charged with new charges, reports lawyer Varazdat Harutyunyan.
"In the context of ongoing political repression, another charge has been brought against Lieutenant General Tiran Khachatryan, allegedly for hooliganism: in September 2023, he crashed at high speed into a car blocking a street. Moreover, after three years of inaction (the proceedings began in 2023), a hasty decision was recently made to press charges, complete the preliminary investigation, and transfer the case to court with the presentation of an indictment," the lawyer reported on his Facebook page.
Khachatryan had previously figured in a number of other criminal cases, including those related to the 44- day war of 2020.
