ArmInfo. Former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan, leader of the "Armenia" alliance, has acknowledged that his political bloc is approaching the upcoming parliamentary elections backed by a clear awareness of past mistakes alongside its record of past achievements. Kocharyan made the remarks in a video address published on his Facebook page ahead of the national elections scheduled for June 7, 2026.
Expressing firm conviction that his team can guarantee national security and rebuild critical relationships with foreign allies, Kocharyan called on citizens to trust the bloc's capabilities and cast their votes for the alliance.
"I guarantee there will be no war," Kocharyan stated. "We will not pursue a collision course with our allies, nor will we provoke unnecessary tension with our neighbors. This is precisely why we are asking for your votes. We have learned our lessons—both from our successes and our errors. Therefore, we approach this election with a combination of proven experience and a deep awareness of the past."
At the same time, Kocharyan admitted that the country faces highly complex work ahead, which will demand immense effort. As the leader of the "Armenia" alliance explained, they must simultaneously rectify the errors committed by the current authorities in recent years, implement structural reforms, make urgent decisions, and move forward.
"This requires solidarity and cohesive teamwork. It will not be easy, but I am confident that this work will bring not only tangible results, but also a renewed sense of pride. For this very reason, the current atmosphere of hatred must remain nothing more than a memory of this election campaign," Kocharyan concluded.
