ArmInfo. The comprehensive strategic relations between the US and Armenia are stronger than ever, as stated by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan at a briefing with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
"I must emphasize that the comprehensive strategic relations between our countries are stronger than ever. It is no exaggeration to say that we have entered a historic stage, given the periodic bilateral developments," Mirzoyan said.
He reiterated the significance of the out comes of the August 2025 Washington summit, which made it possible to establish peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan and reach a crucial agreement on lifting the regional transport blockade. "A few months later, in January of this year, Rubio and I signed a new framework document in Washington for the implementation of TRIPP (the Trump Roadmap for International Peace and Prosperity), and a few months later, now, on May 26, in Yerevan, we were able to sign a preliminary intergovernmental agreement on the TRIPP project," he said.
According to him, of course, this is not the entire path that Yerevan and Washington have taken, and there are already signed agreements on artificial intelligence and semiconductors, in the field of nuclear energy. "We just signed a new document on minerals and critical metals. Most importantly, I would say that with the agreement, we have elevated our strategic cooperation to a new level, renaming it a "comprehensive strategic partnership". I invite you to review and compare the two documents. I expect you will see the extensive new opportunities they yield, particularly regarding artificial intelligence and other vital sectors, illustrating just how robust this framework is in these areas," the Armenian Foreign Minister stated.
