
ArmInfo. To ensure the safety of participants in the events dedicated to Republic Day of Armenia, traffic restrictions will be imposed on several streets in the capital from May 25 to 28.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), on May 25, from 1:00 AM to 3:00 AM, a section of road in Yerevan will be closed that includes the following directions: Arzni Airport - Nor Geghi Village - Yerevan Highway - Yeghvard Highway - Halabyan Street - Tsitsernakaberd. "From 1:00 AM to 7:00 AM, traffic will be restricted on the section between Atenka Street (Athens) - Mashtots Avenue - Amiryan Street. Atenka Street will remain closed until the end of the events on May 28," the ministry reported.
From 1:30 AM to 7:00 AM, traffic will also be restricted on Republic Square and the streets leading to it. "From 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM, the section from Amiryan Street through Tigran Mets Avenue, Agatangeghos Street, Grigor Lusavorich Street, and Argishti Street to Atenka Street will be closed. From 2:00 AM to 3:00 AM, the section from Shahumyan Square to Khorenatsi Street and Agatangeghos Street will be closed," the ministry reported.
On May 26, according to the source, traffic will be restricted from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM on the section of "Athina Street - Mashtots Avenue - Amiryan Street," as well as on the section of "Tigran Mets Avenue to Mher Mkrtchyan Street, Khorenatsi Street, Italy Street, and the former capital regiment." "From 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the intersection of Kristapora Street and Tigran Mets Avenue will be closed, as will the section from Atenk Street to Tigran Mets Avenue, including Agatangeghos, Grigor Lusavorich, and Argishti Streets. On May 28, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, all of the aforementioned sections of roads will be closed, as well as the intersection of Republic Square, Tigran Mets Avenue, and Kristapora Street until 1:00 AM on May 29," the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs summarized.
As a reminder, Armenia celebrates First Republic Day on May 28. On this day, a parade will be held in Republic Square, where the country's authorities will demonstrate their newly acquired weapons.
