Hayaqve issues statement regarding blocking of opposition website`s  YouTube channel

ArmInfo.  The civic initiative Hayaqve issued a statement regarding the blocking of the opposition website 24news.am's YouTube channel.

"Since yesterday, the YouTube channel of 24news.am, one of the most  authoritative media outlets in Armenia, has been subjected to massive  attacks. The blocking of this video platform, which has over 300,000  subscribers, especially during the pre-election period, is yet  another insidious attempt by the current regime and its cronies to  silence the free press. The regime, which talks day and night about  hybrid threats or the 'Moldovan scenario,' has in fact resorted to a  blatant hybrid attack itself, using the same Moldovan scenario, in an  attempt to silence one of the most authoritative opposition media  outlets," the statement reads.

It emphasizes that the initiative strongly condemns this vile attack  on a respected media outlet, calling it a gross violation of freedom  of speech. "We express our support for the editorial staff and  subscribers of 24news.am and demand that the relevant authorities  identify the perpetrators and hold them accountable," the statement  continues.
