ArmInfo. Today, Armenia faces several challenges, the most critical of which is peace, as stated by Levon Zurabyan, Deputy Chairman of the Armenian National Congress and candidate for Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, at a press conference on May 7, while presenting the party's election platform.
"There are currently two concepts of peace. One is Pashinyan's concept of peace, which assumes that we will achieve peace if Azerbaijan becomes the master of Armenia. Nikol Pashinyan is saying nothing else. For us, such a scenario is unacceptable. It is a false peace and a dangerous formula. It will only lead to Azerbaijan becoming the master of the situation, and we will no longer be able to decide anything. And we are already seeing manifestations of this: they are demanding that we remove the Declaration of Independence from the country's main document - the Constitution, fully understanding that this undermines the foundations of our independent statehood. Today, they are demanding that we elect a very specific person who is their viceroy and puppet, whose only task is to destroy the stability and backbone of Armenia. Nikol Pashinyan will do nothing else," Zurabyan stated.
According to him, it is highly advantageous for Azerbaijan that Armenia is led by a man who, "without firing a single shot, does exactly what they set out to achieve." Zurabyan noted that in its election program, the Armenian National Congress proposes countering this by bolstering Armenia's resilience. "To increase the country's resilience, it is necessary to build up demographic and economic potential, find rapid solutions, and restore the state's balance on the international stage," he noted.
