ArmInfo. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's visit to Yerevan to participate in the European Political Community (EPC) summit is an act of baseness by Armenian authorities toward both Armenia's ally (Russia - ed.) and the Armenian people, as stated by Samvel Karapetyan, leader of the Strong Armenia party, at a press conference in Yerevan.
The party leader believes that the Armenian people will receive no benefit from this. "At the summit, the Armenian prime minister essentially gave a master class on how to surrender one's own territories. All that remains for Pashinyan is to sell the Europeans one last thing: an anti-Russian policy, which they will gladly accept from him," Karapetyan concluded.
Recall, on May 3, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Yerevan to participate in the 8th European Political Community Summit. During a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on May 4, , Zelenskyy proposed resuming the work of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and holding its next meeting in Kyiv. Armenia's move was sharply criticized by Russia. Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev called Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy "two brainless Russophobes." Federation Council Vice Speaker Konstantin Kosachev stated that "the EPC summit in Yerevan aims to expedite Armenia's accession to the euro and the transatlantic community, while complicating relations with Russia as much as possible and giving its response the connotation of a 'Russian threat.'" Meanwhile, Armenian political scientist Vahe Hovhannisyan expressed the opinion that "Zelensky's arrival in Yerevan will mean turning Armenia into the epicenter of anti-Russian sentiment, which will openly irritate at least three neighboring states Iran, Georgia, and even Turkey."
