Armenia interested in joint education programs with ICC - RA  Prosecutor General 

ArmInfo. Armenia is interested in implementing joint training programs with the International Criminal Court. This was stated by RA Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan during a meeting with ICC President Tomoko Akane.

According to the supervisory body's press service, during the  meeting, Anna Vardapetyan emphasized that this is the ICC President's  first visit to Armenia, demonstrating a commitment to developing and  deepening cooperation between the Republic and the Court. The parties  emphasized the importance of developing bilateral cooperation and  strengthening institutional partnerships, particularly in the context  of building prosecutorial capacity in investigating international  crimes. Among other issues, they discussed a range of issues related  to evidence collection in criminal proceedings and the protection of  victims and witnesses.

The Prosecutor General expressed interest in implementing joint  training programs with the International Criminal Court, expanding  technical cooperation, and developing mechanisms for exchanging  experiences. The importance of a victim-centered approach in criminal  proceedings was emphasized.  Anna Vardapetyan and Tomoko Akane  reaffirmed their commitment to developing effective and transparent  cooperation mechanisms and continuing constructive dialogue.

It is worth recalling that Armenia became a member of the  International Criminal Court on February 1, 2024, becoming the 124th  State Party to the Rome Statute and the 19th State Party from the  Eastern European group.
