ArmInfo. For the first time, the European Political Community is meeting in the South Caucasus, thereby placing Armenia at the heart of Europe, to which it belongs. This was stated by European Council President Anoniu Costa on May 4 at the opening of the 8th ENP summit.
He stated that this was made possible thanks to the agreement concluded between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which for Europe is a history of peace, calling it a history of peace. Costa noted that thanks to this agreement, relations between Armenia and Turkey have improved. "This region has moved toward strategic areas of connectivity, markets, transport corridors, and energy connectivity. Trust is being built, jobs are being created, and neighbors are being provided with the opportunity to connect through concrete, practical partnerships through shared growth. The European Union stands ready to be a reliable partner and make this vision a reality, making peace irreversible and transforming the region into a place of well-being and prosperity," Costa noted.
The head of the European Council also noted that strengthening democracy in Armenia and combating external influence and disinformation are vital.
