ArmInfo. Peace has been established between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was announced by Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan at the opening of the 8th European Community Summit.
According to him, no one in Armenia has been injured in the shootings with Azerbaijan for two years now, and these two years can be considered historic. Pashinyan noted that active work is currently underway between the two countries aimed at strengthening peace. Moreover, this is the first time that an Azerbaijani president is participating in a summit in Yerevan, albeit via videoconference. The Prime Minister of Armenia hopes to visit Azerbaijan in 2028 to participate in the next European Community Summit. This is especially true since Armenia and Azerbaijan have supported each other in hosting ENP summits in their countries.
The Prime Minister also considered the participation of the Turkish Vice President in the summit to be very important. He recalled his meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the first ENP summit. The Turkish Vice President became the first high-ranking official to visit Yerevan.
The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of the event in the context of complex international issues, from Ukraine to the Middle East. He expressed hope that the Yerevan summit could be historic in terms of establishing international peace and stability.
