Major counterfeiting operation uncovered in Yerevan; four charged

ArmInfo. The preliminary investigation into the criminal case launched by the RA Investigative Committee regarding the sale of counterfeit banknotes by a group of individuals has been completed.

According to the Investigative Committee's press service, the  preliminary investigation revealed that a group of four individuals  sold counterfeit banknotes totaling 1.15 million drams. Specifically,  they sold one 100,000 AMD banknote, 20 50,000 AMD banknotes, one  20,000 AMD banknote, and five 10,000  AMD banknotes to various  individuals.

A criminal case has been initiated against them on 29 charges. They  have been placed under house arrest and administrative supervision   as preventive measures. The criminal case has been transferred to the  supervisory authority along with the indictment.
