


ArmInfo. On April 26, Armenian Ambassador to Spain Sos Avetisyan participated in the annual Guernica Award for Peace and Reconciliation ceremony in Guernica- Lumo. The event has been taking place since 2005, as reported by the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Spain.
Avetisyan received the 2026 Guernica Award on behalf of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, which is presented to the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan for their efforts in establishing peace between the two countries. According to media reports, a similar prize was awarded to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
It should be noted that the Gernika Award for Peace and Reconciliation is a prestigious award established in 2005 by the Gernika-Lumo City Council and local foundations in Spain to honor the memory of the 1937 bombing. The award recognizes individuals and organizations that promote dialogue, human rights, and conflict transformation.
