ArmInfo.Today, April 24, Armenia, Russia, and the entire civilized world pay tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide in the early 20th century in the Ottoman Empire. The uncivilized world doesn't want to know about it.
Only with this approach such events as the mass exodus of the entire Armenian population from Nagorno-Karabakh, captured by Azerbaijan in 2023 can be celebrated. Konstantin Zatulin, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration, and Relations with Compatriots, made this statement in his address on the occasion of the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
"Interestingly, the countries that have not recognized the Armenian Genocide include not only Turkey and Azerbaijan, but also Israel. It turns out that Jewish Holocaust survivors are unwilling to share their feelings and empathize with other people and nations. And we witness the consequences of these actions in the crimes that occur before us today. In 1995, we in Russia decided to recognize April 24 as a Day of Remembrance and Sorrow. It's important to remember that Armenians were exterminated by the Young Turks more than a hundred years ago on suspicion of sympathizing with Russia. Sympathy for Russia to the shame of today's generations continues to be a pretext for repression and persecution in certain countries, We have reached a point where the current government in Armenia has embarked on a path of rupture with Russia and persecutes those who oppose it. It's no coincidence that those who prevented the candle of remembrance from being extinguished at the Yerevan Memorial Museum are losing their jobs. It's a matter of our honor to prevent this," the State Duma deputy noted.
