ArmInfo.Kentron TV will provide full live coverage from the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex on April 24, the day of remembrance of the holy martyrs of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire, as announced by Kentron TV General Director Betkhehem Arabyan.
She noted that in the lead-up to the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, their TV company, which broadcasts nationwide, is receiving calls from the regions, the capital, and the diaspora asking whether the company will broadcast events dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide. "We regret that additional comments and clarifications on this matter are required during this difficult time for our country. We inform our viewers that on April 24, from early morning until late evening, Kentron TV, as always, will be operating in emergency mode, covering this important day of national remembrance.
The television company will broadcast the procession and various events commemorating the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide live from the Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex throughout the day, simultaneously broadcasting programs and interviews dedicated to the Armenian Genocide," Arabyan noted.
The day before, it was announced that the state-funded Public Television of Armenia plans to broadcast live from Tsitsernakaberd only until 1:00 PM local time. This is the first time the public broadcaster has done this since independence. Traditionally, PTA has provided round- the- clock coverage of the events commemorating the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
