ArmInfo. The full electoral list of the Strong Armenia bloc, consisting of 30 candidates, will be submitted to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) on April 22, as stated by Gohar Meloyan, legal expert and member of the Strong Armenia party, at the congress of the party on April 21.
It should be noted that during the party congress, a meeting was held between the leaders of the political forces that have joined the Strong Armenia bloc: Mesrop Arakelyan, co-founder of the Country to Live party; Harutyun Harutyunyan, chairman of the New Era party; and Nairi Sargsyan, plenipotentiary representative of the United Armenians party. Party spokesperson Marianna Ghahramanyan then announced the 30 candidates included on the electoral list.
In a conversation with reporters, Meloyan recalled that on March 31, 2026, they announced the formation of the Strong Armenia with Samvel Karapetyan alliance. Shortly thereafter, on April 7, the ruling party convened an extraordinary session, during which amendments to the Electoral Code were adopted. Among these changes was a prohibition on the use of personal names in the titles of parties and blocs. "Therefore, we decided to participate in the parliamentary elections with the Strong Armenia bloc. However, I have personally submitted an inquiry to the CEC, asking for their official stance on the propriety of enacting such legislative changes within a matter of hours," the party member noted.
Meloyan also announced that they intend to hold an extraordinary session early in the morning of April 22 to finalize the name of their political force. "Tomorrow we also intend to submit documents to the Central Election Commission, and despite this, we are ready to cooperate with other political forces, even those outside the bloc," the party member noted.
In turn, Narek Karapetyan, a board member of the Strong Armenia party, told reporters that there are political forces with whom they are continuing negotiations, and the results of these discussions will be presented. Regarding their decision to cooperate only with new forces, he clarified that the country needs new people who can bring about change, as the people have already seen what the "former" ones have given them.
Recall, on April 21, the Country to Live party and the Strong Armenia bloc signed a memorandum on joint participation in the parliamentary elections in Armenia, scheduled for June 7, 2026. On March 31, 2026, Narek Karapetyan signed a memorandum on the creation of an alliance with the chairman of the New Era Party, Harutyun Harutyunyan, and the authorized representative of the United Armenians Party, Nairi Sargsyan.
