ArmInfo. Armenia is ready to build a future where borders are not obstacles, but gateways to cooperation, as stated by Hasmik Hakobyan, a member of the National Assembly, during her address at the Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly.
According to her statement, as quoted by the NA press service, Armenia is moving toward a new era of stability. "On August 8, 2025, we turned a historic page. The Joint Declaration signed with Azerbaijan was more than just a milestone. It was a commitment to mutual sovereignty grounded in the 1991 Alma-Ata Declaration. Today, for the first time in decades, we have seen nearly two years without victims along our borders. The silence of the guns is our most powerful message of hope. Hope becomes strong when it brings real benefits. Hope becomes lasting when it delivers real benefits. Through the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project, we are transforming the South Caucasus into a hub of connectivity. Last November, a cargo train from Azerbaijan reached Armenia via Georgia for the first time since 1991. We are also ready to facilitate transit between Azerbaijan and Turkiye, believing that interdependence is the best antidote to animosity.
My Government has embraced the vision of the "Real Armenia"-a state anchored within its internationally recognized borders. By choosing diplomacy, we have also secured the return of our citizens from captivity.
As we approach our parliamentary elections to be held in June 2026, our goal is to make peace and democracy irreversible. We have learned that our destinies are interconnected; if we do not safeguard our peace, no one else will. Armenia stands ready to build a future where borders are not barriers, but gateways to cooperation."
