A delegation, led by Speaker of the National Assembly of Artsakh Ashot Danielyan, met with Loukas Fourlas, Member of the European Parliament and Head of the Armenia-EU Friendship Group and Vice Chair of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats Yannis Maniatis to discuss the challenges facing the forcibly displaced population of Artsakh, both politically and humanitarianly.
According to the press service of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) parliament, the meeting took place as part of the Artsakh delegation's visit to Brussels. The delegation included Speaker of the Artsakh National Assembl,y Ashot Danielyan, Artsakh Ombudsman Gegham Stepanyan, representative of the ARF Artsakh Central Committee Ara Puluzyan, and member of the Diocesan Council of the Artsakh Diocese Lernik Hovhannisyan.
The Artsakh delegation reiterated the need to protect the rights of the people of Artsakh and the need for the international community to take effective steps in this regard.
The NKR parliament noted that the visit reaffirms that, despite the current challenges, the Artsakh issue remains a focus for European institutions, and the Armenian side's consistent efforts are aimed at ensuring the continued advancement of the Artsakh agenda on the international stage. Furthermore, it is noted that meetings in Brussels are ongoing, creating new opportunities to advocate for the interests of Armenians in Artsakh.
