ArmInfo. An Armenian court has applied administrative supervision as a preventive measure against Gohar Gumashyan, a member of Samvel Karapetyan's Strong Armenia party, and Verzhine Stepanyan, the coordinator of the political party's Vayk office.
Legal expert and party member Gohar Meloyan reported this on her Facebook page.
As the lawyer noted, both women are mothers of minor children. "Thank you all for your support and sympathy. Thank you to our 'frontline fighters' - the media representatives. This was another example of the strength of our unity. When society is united and determined, victory is inevitable. We will continue our journey towards a strong Armenia," Meloyan wrote.
The legal expert also recalled that the first court hearing in the criminal case against party chairman Samvel Karapetyan will take place today at 12:00 PM in the Anti-Corruption Court.
As a reminder, Gohar Gumashyan and Verzhine Stepanyan were detained on April 14. The Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia reported that both women, who have young children in their custody, are accused of carrying out charitable activities during the pre-election period. The prosecution had requested that the women be placed under house arrest.
