Opposition MP raises issue of arrested 18-year-old student during  parliamentary  session

ArmInfo.Lilit Galstyan,  a member of the NA  from the opposition "Armenia" faction, raised the issue of an arrested 18-year-old schoolboy at a parliamentary plenary session on April 14.

 According to her, 18-year-old David Minasyan's  health had deteriorated after he was struck by Prime Minister Nikol  Pashinyan's security guard. She urged the Ministry of Education,  Science, Culture, and Sports to assist in changing Minasyan's  pretrial detention status from regular arrest to house arrest,  particularly because he suffers from illnesses incompatible with  detention in a pretrial detention facility.

 "He has health issues, and we believe that the blow from one of the  guards has worsened these problems.  Furthermore, he is a  top-performing student. Despite these circumstances, the prosecutor's  office has denied the petitions of David's family members, who  promised to comply with all the conditions of his house arrest,"  Galstyan stated.
