Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisogomonyan, during a meeting with Claus Neukirch, Director of Programme Coordination at the Council of Europe, praised the existing political dialogue and programmatic cooperation between Armenia and the Council of Europe. Neukirch arrived in Yerevan to participate in a meeting of the Interministerial Committee of the Armenia-Council of Europe Action Plan.
According to the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, Abisogomonyan emphasized the important role of the Council of Europe in reforming democratic institutions in Armenia, protecting human rights, and strengthening the rule of law. In this context, the importance of the Armenia-Council of Europe Action Plan for 2023-2026 was emphasized as a strategic framework aimed at supporting the ambitious reform program being implemented in Armenia. The parties exchanged views on promoting cooperation in the process of developing the Armenia-Council of Europe Action Plan for 2027-2030 and ensuring the continuity of the programs being implemented.
