Armenian authorities seek to strip PPA leader of his position as NOC  President

ArmInfo. The authorities want to remove the well-known Armenian oligarch and leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party from his position as President of the  National Olympic Committee. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of the  Weightlifting Federation, whose president is Arayik Harutyunyan,  Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia. The  notice of the lawsuit was published on the judicial information  portal datalex.am.

The lawsuit demands that Gagik Tsarukyan's term of office as NOC  President be declared terminated effective September 9, 2025. All  decisions made by the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party since  that date, as well as the powers of all members of the NOC Audit  Commission, are also to be declared invalid.
