ArmInfo.According to the Government of Armenia, the terms of discussions in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on the draft amendments to the  Electoral Code of the country and in a package of related laws have  been extended 3-fold. This was announced on October 22 at the  extraordinary meeting of the Parliament by the Acting Minister of  Justice of the Republic of Armenia Artak Zeynalyan, who presented the  package in the first reading.

ArmInfo.Armenia is entering the pre-election stage, which the government of the republic should use effectively in order to successfully overcome all existing  challenges.  This was announced by the acting Prime Minister Nikol  Pashinyan during the meeting of the executive body on October 18.

ArmInfo.The holding of early parliamentary elections in the country may lead to the  establishment of a political monopoly. This opinion was expressed by the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan.

This is reported on the official website of the RA President.  "Considering  the 130th article of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia to  accept the resignation of the government," Armen Sarkissian's decree  says.

ArmInfo.Opinions regarding the early elections to the Republican National Assembly were divided. On October 16, the head of the parliamentary commission on foreign  affairs, deputy chairman of the Republican Party, Armen Ashotyan,  told reporters.  He noted that some representatives of the RPA,  including him, believe that they need to participate in early  parliamentary elections, while others say that this election period  should be missed and prepare for the development of the political  situation in the country.

ArmInfo.The Republican Party of Armenia has not yet discussed the question of whether it will become involved in early elections or not. The vice-speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, press secretary of the Republican Party, Edward  Sharmazanov, stated this in an interview with ArmInfo correspondent.

ArmInfo.There is no stable majority in the National Assembly, and this problem must be solved. This point of view was expressed by the Chairman of the Supreme  Judicial Council of the Republic of Armenia Gagik Harutyunyan on  October 13 in an interview with journalists in the Yerevan  Municipality.

ArmInfo.According to the new Electoral Code, it is established that the elections to the National Assembly of Armenia will be held according to the usual proportional lists, that is, not according to the rating system. This was stated on October 9 by  Daniel Ioannisyan, secretary of the commission on the reform of the  Electoral Code, at a public debate on the IC reform project.
