ArmInfo. At the background of the developments in Armenia, Azerbaijan implements the accumulation of manpower, artillery and military equipment along the line of contact with Artsakh, which gives grounds to assume a possible new adventure  from Baku. Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian commented on  the situation on the contact line between Artsakh and Azerbaijan.

ArmInfo.The leadership of Azerbaijan has the illusion that a compromise can only be from Armenia and Artsakh, and that, for this reason, the status quo does not change. This was stated in an interview with Izvestia by the third president of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan.

ArmInfo.Armenia has always been in favor of changing the status quo in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesman Tigran Balayan stated  this in a conversation with ArmInfo correspondent, referring to the accusations of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev against Armenia about the unwillingness to change the status quo.

He noted that the Armenian side is always ready for negotiations, and the main goal of the Minsk mediators is to explain to Azerbaijan the necessity of compromises. Rustamyan noted that the last statement of the chairmen of the Minsk Group is addressed to Azerbaijan, and if the authorities of the AR show a little ingenuity, they immediately realize this. "We need to create an environment conducive to negotiations, but as long as there is no response from Baku, it is absolutely impossible," the deputy concluded. In his turn, the head of the Yelk faction Nikol Pashinyan also considered that the statements of the co- chairs were addressed to Azerbaijan, despite the fact that the mediators did not point to a specific side. The deputy stressed the fact that the Armenian side is interested in a peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict. According to Pashinyan, the constant violation of the ceasefire and failure to comply with the Vienna agreements is a disgrace, first of all, for the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries. He noted that Azerbaijan constantly evades implementation of peace agreements. In turn, the head of the Republican faction Vahram Baghdasaryan noted that the Azerbaijani side is doing everything possible to discredit the negotiation process on the Karabakh settlement and the co-chairs is quite obvious. "The Armenian side repeatedly demanded to indicate who is guilty of escalating in the conflict zone, but the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs try to avoid this, which certainly contributes to the aggravation of the conflict," Baghdasaryan said, adding that border controls need to be established to monitor the ceasefire.

"If we are talking about real progress in the negotiation process, the implementation of activities, which were mentioned in Vienna and St. Petersburg. Obviously, without the atmosphere of confidence, progress is almost impossible, "he stressed. Referring to the next visit of the mediators, Shavarsh Kocharyan said that there is very little time left. In any case, as the representative of the Armenian Foreign Ministry noted, after the meetings and discussions with the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, the sides will make statements and comments. Nevertheless, he urged to draw attention to the fact that mediators will speak, as Armenia and Azerbaijan are talking about, and then compare what has been said.
