ArmInfo. French President Emmanuel Macron urged not to forget the day of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire. "We must never forget April 24, 1915, the Genocide of Armenians, the first genocide of the 20th century. Moreover, the Armenian Genocide Day should be included in the calendar of France's memorable days," Macron said at the annual banquet Coordinating Council of Armenian Organizations of France. At the same time he reminded that he made a corresponding promise during the election campaign and intends to keep it. At the same time, the French leader called to fight against the denial of the Armenian Genocide. "The bill on the criminalization of the denial of genocides will again be introduced for discussion and voting in the near future." This struggle allows us to look into the eyes of today's reality and the current tragedies," the French leader said. In his speech, he also touched upon the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement and noted that France as a co-chair country of the OSCE Minsk Group will continue to follow the way of listening to all sides of the conflict. He stressed that Paris is in favor of finding a compromise in resolving the conflict, since the status quo does not solve the problem.
