ArmInfo's reliable source has informed that on May 21 president of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan will lead the Armenian delegation to Latvia for the participation in the Riga Summit of the Eastern Partnership.
Meanwhile Head of EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Traian Hristea said on May 19 "The coming Riga Summit of the Eastern Partnership might open up new opportunities for Armenia. The documentation package is ready, it might be adopted during the Riga Summit. However, I do not think it to be correct to offer any specifics until the documents are still under the negotiations. I can say that we will not confine to political cooperation only. All the directions, that were envisaged during the Vilnius summit in 2013 are to be approved and endorsed in this document".
According to Hristea, the European Union monitors the constitutional reforms initiated by president of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan. Both the Venice Commission and the EU attach importance to the fact that the ruling Republican Party has formed a wide-scale political consolidation in respect of making changes in the Mother law of the country.
To note, the Riga Summit will take place on May 21-22.
