On the margins of the
"Centennial Without Regime" campaign, the Founding Parliament
movement is holding a Yerevan-Gyumri car rally.
The goal of the car rally is to hold a meeting with
the Founding Parliament's supporters from Gyumri. It is noteworthy that the
previous car rally to Gyumri was disrupted by the local kingpins.
To recall, on January 31, representatives of the
Founding Parliament, including Zhirayr Sefilyan, an Artsakh War veteran, were
severely beaten up on their way to Karabakh, near Berdzor. With such measures
the Karabakh Police tried to prevent the car rally in Artsakh. The rally was
part of the "Centennial Without Regime" campaign that seeks a power
shift in Armenia ahead of the Armenian Genocide centennial. The NKR police
officers dragged them out of their cars and severely beaten up with rubber
sticks. Many of the activists were
taken to the Stepanakert Hospital. Sefilyan was hospitalized in grave
condition, too.
