"I do not rule out that Western forces may be behind orange revolutions and coup attempts in the post-Soviet countries, but there are no proofs of that," Alexander Rahr, a German political analyst told ArmInfo in an online interview organized by the Region Research Center.
Many political analysts say experts in Armenia and Russia are sure that the West and NATO are trying to "blow up Russia's underbelly" by funding revolutions in Georgia, Ukraine, and now already in Turkey and Armenia.
"Power Change is not the West's invention. It is the creation of the cold war. Both U.S. and USSR learnt how to use these tools efficiently. The West is trying to prevent the trends that may lead to recreation of the Russian Empire in the territory of the former USSR," he said.
Therefore, the West continues supporting the elites of the countries that seek a new identity by distancing themselves from Russia.
