ArmInfo. Today, at 12:00, the procession, led by the Primate of the Tavush Diocese, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, will move from Sevan towards Yerevan. This was announced late the night before by a member of the Armenian Parliament from the "Armenia" faction, a participant in the "Tavush for the Motherland" movement, Garnik Danielyan from Sevan, where the march participants stopped for the night.
"This is the first victory we have recorded, which shows that the Armenian people are attached to their land and water. Together we can still state victories. I am grateful that you exist, masters of the homeland, patriots," he said following the results of yesterday's crowded march to Yerevan with a demand to the Prime Minister of Armenia to stop unilateral concessions of sovereign territories of the Republic of Armenia to Azerbaijan.
The night before, when asked by journalists whether the Church had joined the "Tavush in the Name of the Motherland" movement, Bagrat Srbazan stated that they do not operate without the blessing of His Holiness the Patriarch.
"The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin is always with us. We do not act without the blessing of His Holiness the Patriarch. The Armenian Patriarch is our father, blessing and leading us," the archbishop said.
On May 4, a procession to Yerevan started from the village of Kirants. Bagrat Srbazan noted that on May 9 by noon the movement will arrive in Yerevan and present specific demands to the Armenian authorities.
A number of political forces and figures have already expressed support for the movement. Yesterday the length of movement was about 4 km.
