ArmInfo.Foreign officials must stop manipulating the so-called "Armenia's position". Former Minister of Justice, Doctor of Law Gevorg Danielyan wrote on his Facebook page, also addressing the "institutional" opposition.
Danielyan addresses <a rhetorical question to all oppositional institutional forces that have taken a vow of silence>, noting that the ceding territories of the Tavush region at a minimum means: a) ceding the most powerful strategic positions, b) the surrender of territories recognized as part of the Armenian SSR by the protocol of January 12 1988 and c) disruption of gas supply and interstate road communication with the Russian Federation and the resulting not only purely economic, but also political consequences.
"Perhaps you don't think it's important that the constitutional framework for making such key decisions is bypassed, or you are sure that thereby we will have peaceful state borders. Explain, maybe we can accept this? We hear and see the position of the authorities, accompanied by specific actions, every day," notes the ex-minister.
Post script Gevorg Danielyan, without going into details, calls for at least discussion and immediate contact with all competent national and international bodies, "so that the constitutional foundations of resolving issues subject to ratification by international treaties are not undermined, not to mention the referendum, which we absolutely forgot. "Foreign officials will stop manipulating the so-called "Armenia's position", everyone must understand a simple truth: the source of this important concept is the people and their parliament, regardless of its quality. If they don't understand this or pretend that they don't know, then you have something to do...," summarizes Doctor of Law Gevorg Danielyan. On April 19, the Armenian Foreign Ministry, following the results of the eighth meeting of state commissions, announced that Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to begin delimitation from the Tavush region and by July 1 to complete the approval of the draft regulations on the joint activities of delimitation commissions. As stated on the same day in the office of the Armenian Prime Minister, as a result of the delimitation of this section, Baku will get villages, and the Armenian side will get risk reduction. Since the evening of April 19, residents of the border villages of Tavush have been holding protests. They oppose the border delimitation option agreed upon by Yerevan and Baku, as a result of which strategic heights will pass to Azerbaijan and Armenian villages will be completely or partially surrounded.
