ArmInfo. The ruling Civil Contract faction in Armenia refused to accept a document that meets the state interests of the country, Artsvik Minasyan of the opposition faction "Armenia" state in Parliament, commenting on the refusal of the faction from the party in power to include a draft statement on the process of delimitation and demarcation of borders on the NA agenda.
According to Minasyan, with their step, the country's authorities once again ignored their election promises, thereby proving that they have nothing in common with the Armenian people and Armenian statehood. In the process of delimitation and demarcation of borders, the Armenian authorities are guided exclusively by the demands put forward by Azerbaijan. Meanwhile, the opposition's initiative was aimed at promoting international law with a higher level of security in this process. "With this statement, Armenia would be protected by international documents and international law in accordance with the declaration of the principle of international law. However, what we heard today is the exact opposite fact. The authorities are leading the country to new territorial concessions and, ultimately, to its destruction," the MP.
Today the ruling Civil Contract faction refused to include a draft statement regarding the process of delimitation and demarcation of borders on the big agenda of the National Assembly.
On April 19, the commissions for demarcation of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to begin demarcation of the border from the Tavush region. According to them, the description of these sections of the border line will be drawn up taking into account the clarification of the coordinates that will be obtained as a result of geodetic measurements on site. All this will be documented in the appropriate protocol description, which must be agreed upon and signed between the parties before May 15 of this year.
