ArmInfo.The heads of parliamentary delegations of the CSTO member states issued a statement condemning the brutal terrorist attack of March 22, 2024 in the Crocus City Hall shopping and entertainment center in the city of Krasnogorsk, Moscow region.
"We, the heads of the parliamentary delegations of the CSTO member states in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization, strongly condemn the act of cruel and cynical terrorist attack of March 22, 2024 in the Moscow region, which led to numerous casualties among civilians," the Statement published on official website of the CSTO PA reads.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization expressed its readiness to actively combat the spread of terrorist and extremist ideology, as well as to counteract recruitment into the ranks of terrorist organizations. The Statement states that the CSTO member states advocate further consolidation in countering terrorism and extremism both within the CSTO and at the global level.
Meanwhile, as the spokesperson of the Speaker of the RA Parliament told the Armenian media, Armenia did not join the statement of the CSTO PA condemning the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall, since its membership in the Organization is "frozen."
She also added that Speaker of Parliament Alen Simonyan expressed condolences on his TG channel, and Deputy Speaker Hakob Arshakyan condemned the terrorist attack at his speech in Geneva. The terrorist attack in the Moscow region claimed the lives of 140 people, including three children. More than 180 people were injured. The list of dead includes one Armenian citizen - Lilit Israelyan.
