ArmInfo.Armenia will appoint defense attaches to NATO and the OSCE. The decision was made on February 15 at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
As noted in the document, it is proposed instead of the civil service positions of State Advisor and Representative for Military Affairs to establish military positions of RA Defense Attache.
Thus, with the adoption of the Projects, the following are defined:
1) the position of attache for defense issues of the Republic of Armenia at the representation of the Republic of Armenia in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization;
2) the position of attache for defense issues of the Republic of Armenia in the Supreme Allied Command in Europe of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization under the mission of the Republic of Armenia to NATO;
3) the position of attache for defense issues of the Republic of Armenia at the representation of the Republic of Armenia in the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe;
4) the position of the military representative of the Republic of Armenia in the RA mission in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization is down.
The defense attache will represent Armenia at NATO headquarters in Brussels and the other at NATO Supreme Allied Command located in Mons, Belgium. Additionally, the defense attache will work as part of the Armenian delegation to the OSCE in Vienna.
